What is Light Therapy?
Light Therapy is therapeutic modality that is FDA approved in the United States. It has been proven effective in the treatment of a number of soft-tissue, pain, and inflammatory conditions.
How does Light Therapy work?
First, the light therapy wand is applied to the injured area. The light photons are absorbed by the chromospheres in the mitochondria and the cell membranes, and the absorbed photon energy is converted to ATP. The additional ATP accelerates DNA and RNA synthesis, protein synthesis, mitosis, and cell proliferation. The result of this process is tissue repair, pain reduction, and accelerated resolution of inflammation.
What conditions can Light Therapy treat?
Research suggests that Light Therapy is effective in treating pain associated with the following conditions:
Lateral/Medial Epicondylitis
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Arthritis
TMJ Pain
Cervical Strain
Low Back Strain/Spasm
Knee Arthritis/Tendonitis
Biceps Tendonitis
Plantar Fascitis
Wounds
Post-surgical Pain
Inflammation
